Marriage is the intentional union that sustains Eudaimonia and all the that go with it. These marriage summits and checkins help maintain the joy that we shared during one of our happiest days.
Grace, you are the marker of âgoodâ in my life. I am constantly learning from you, and I am truly lucky to call you my partner, my collaborator, my life love, and now:
I, Blake, take you, Grace, to be my wife. I vow to be honest and gentle with you, to celebrate our differences as well as our similarities, as we tackle challenges head-on and never go to bed angry. I take you, Grace, for better and for worse, in joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish for as long as we both shall live.
Marriage is super difficult and planning makes difficult things easier.
Day 1: Orientation and Scheduling Notes
Day 2: Dreams and Start Relationship Roadmap
Day 3: Work on plan to Maintain Fiscal Responsibility and Develop Relationship Roadmap
Day 4: Synthesis and Wrap
Outcome: Summit Summary
We want to cultivate a successful relationship, while remaining engaged in our professional pursuits. We are still exploring how to do this. We both agree that our relationship and the family that we are building is our highest priority. We also recognize that our professions may sometimes pull focus from our relationship. We may not be in the same place together or have the same schedule. We therefore must work to cultivate intentional quality time with each other by checking in regularly. More particularly, we will keep Saturdays dedicated to âenhancing our love relationshipâ and find time every evening to hear about each otherâs day.
Building a family while pursuing professional success is new territory for both us. That said, remembering our vows to âtackle challenges head-onâ, we are both motivated to realize the most fulfilling professional and family lives.
*Side note: We are not using the word âcareerâ because career is tied too much to money. We want our professional pursuits to have meaning beyond financial gain. We also want want our professional life to be able to change and alter according to our interests and circumstances.
