Ethical business is built on fair transactions that work inside Operating Principles. One fair transaction leads to another fair transaction, which leads to an ethical business. If any of the parties in the transaction is cheated, the transaction isn’t fair. The unethical business person could take that rule as reason to manipulate. The logic goes: “The other person felt good about the transaction, even if I cheated them out of what I thought they were owed.” Business like that isn’t fair. Fairness, harmony, is key to Eudaimonia. In order to reach fairness, transactions must exist. As I said, transactions create a business. That is why this Eudaemonic value exists.
