We need a time when we aren’t working in order to gain perspective on the work we’re doing and live our healthiest lives.
I personally know it’s time to quit work when I find myself saying things like, “I’m not going to sleep well tonight.” I don’t sleep well when I do work that is not within my schedule.
Of course, I would not sacrifice work for the sake of playtime. But doing work within the schedule I set and not outside that schedule allows me to have greater mental health to focus on really hard problems I encounter inside and out of work.
After all, we all want to be healthy.
